John Hilton is a qualified Health and Safety practitioner having worked
within this field since 1985. He is the Project Manager for both the
Business Development Group North Ltd and Safety and Engineering Systems,
an independent business which he started in early 1995.
The UK's involvement in Europe has brought with it a range of new regulations
that not only control the Health and Safety aspects of machinery but
also add meat to the bones of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
John has specialised in the application of these new regulations to
small and medium sized companies, and brings a straight forward practical
approach to what appears to be an impossibly complex situation. Services

Health and Safety policies sit comfortably alongside Quality Systems

integrated together. Naturally John's experience on European Legislation
is of enormous benefit to both Importers and Manufacturers of equipment.
Qualifications and Experience
John is a fully qualified Electrical Engineer, firstly in maintenance
and then in design, in various industries but always in the application
of electrical/ electronics control to machinery and mechanical systems.
He then moved into Engineering Management in the Materials Handling
Equipment field, controlling a multi-disciplined team designing and
installing systems for a wide range of clients. This led to involvement
in product safety via the Chairmanship of the Trade Association Technical
Committee.
