Whilst Ian’s preferred approach is to coach and mentor, he thrives in achieving customer requirements, both internal and external, and in enabling staff to reach their full potential. Qualifications and Experience Before setting up his own company, Ian spent several years at CCL Industries, where he occupied various roles, including Customer Care department and Operations Project Leader, but the role he most relished was as Continuous Improvement and Production Manager. During this time, one of his achievements was the Management Charter Initiative’s Most Improved Factory award. Many of the tools and techniques which he used on a regular basis in this role he now seeks to teach to others. Whilst at CCL, Ian was responsible for the formulation of in-house training manuals, implementation of National Vocational Qualifications and, as a qualified assessor and internal verifier, has advised other organisations on the implementation of NVQs in the workplace. As a City and Guilds 7307 qualified lecturer and key role tutor, Ian has delivered courses on Managing Change, Operations Management, Communications Skills and Continuous Improvement Tools and Techniques at post-graduate level, together with many other courses. Through his work at CCL, Ian has been accepted as a Member of both the Institute of Operations Management and the Chartered Management Institute, in addition to which, he holds Affiliate grading with the Institute of Business Advisors.
